The English test required to extend your leave to remain in the United Kingdom
Fixed package prices, not hourly rates. ELS does not administer official SELT exams. Official test fees are paid separately to an approved provider.
The A2 Secure English Language Test (SELT) is required for family visa holders who entered the UK at A1 level and are now applying to extend their leave to remain — typically after 2.5 years in the UK on a spouse, partner or parent visa.
At A2 level, the test is slightly more demanding than A1. You need to show you can communicate in simple, routine situations and understand more than just the most basic English. The test covers Speaking and Listening only.
Your official test result is issued by the approved test provider and can be verified by UKVI using the provider’s verification system. Elite Language Solutions is an expert SELT preparation provider offering focused preparation courses and links to official booking information.
A conversation with an examiner covering slightly more complex everyday topics than A1 — your plans, preferences, experiences and opinions on familiar subjects.
Short recordings at A2 level including conversations and announcements. You need to understand simple information and short exchanges.
We will confirm availability and pricing within one working day.

Answer these questions first. They test language that supports stronger spoken responses.
Do each task aloud. Give yourself 60 seconds. The goal is spontaneous communication, not perfect memorisation.
Tell me what you did last weekend. Where did you go and who were you with?
Describe the place where you live. What can visitors do there?
What are you going to do next weekend? Why?
Which is better for you: living in a city or a small town?
Do it twice: record attempt one, identify one weakness, then repeat the same mission more naturally. That second attempt is where improvement happens.
