SELT Vocabulary

Essential vocabulary organised by topic, exactly what comes up in a real SELT speaking interview, from personal details to life in the UK.

The SELT doesn't test obscure or academic vocabulary, it tests whether you can talk naturally and clearly about your own life. These are the topics and words that come up most often, organised so you can review exactly what you need for your level.

💡 How to use this list: don't just memorise words in isolation, practise using each one in a full sentence about your own life. For the grammar to build full sentences confidently, see our free grammar guides, and pair this vocabulary with our SELT speaking questions for full practice.
