Been vs Gone: Present Perfect Meaning

Understand the important difference between has been and has gone.

Has been to usually means the person visited and returned. Has gone to normally means the person is still there or on the way.

Maya has been to Madrid twice.

Example 2

Maya has gone to Madrid; she is there now.
